Originally began this Ning site to network with professional peers who are interested in social entrepreneurship, cause marketing, and real estate philanthropy. Now, after viewing the vibrant community of nearly 500 people at Grasshoppers.ning.com, wonder if this group would be more robust if it were opened to real estate consumers as well.
Imagine what could be done if every home buyer or seller donated a portion of their rebate or a fraction of the profit on the sale of their home to a charitable purpose! The list of possible beneficiaries would grow quickly across the five proposed "community commission" categories in this local demonstration program:
* AIDS orphans;
* Arts organizations including individual artists;
* Advocacy groups:
* Assistance efforts (disaster relief, micro-financing, etc), and
* Alumni class funds
What do you think? Should "Change Agents" be restricted to real estate agents, or be open to any change agent who wants home buyers and sellers to participate in their cause or donate to their fund raising campaign?
